It wasn’t until a year ago I started filling in my brows. I still wouldn’t say that I have a need to, but I got totally obsessed with it, and filling in my brows replaced mascara in many ways that I feel naked without.
I’ve been filling them in with Tikei’s Cacao eyeshadow and a crease brush, but when I finished the eyeshadow sample that lasted me a long time, I went and picked up Lily Lolo’s new Eyebrow Duo and got myself a proper eyebrow brush while at it.

Lily Lolo’s eyebrow duo comes with a complimentary wax to fix your eyebrows and a little compact mirror. My eyebrows don’t really play around, but I have tried fixing them with a swipe of lip balm in the past to make them glossy and to stay in place. Which makes me wonder why no one’s ever thought of selling eyebrow wax in a lip balm tube? So easy to apply, just swipe and shape with a brush! Would be cool if the tube also had a brush in one end! Make-up brands listen up!… Anyway…
The Brow Color
I went for the Medium shade, and while it works great, I would on a second thought had gone with the darkest shade, just because while it thickens my brows there’s a slight noticeable color difference of the medium being a bit brown than black on me. Nonetheless, it suits well medium to dark haired brows who wants a natural look. I just prefer a more bold brow. – At the end of the video I show you one filled brow (left) and one unfilled (right).
The color and wax stays put until your evening wash – though I have no idea how it acts with thin/barely there eyebrows. I did a swatch on on my hand and it wouldn’t come off until I removed it with a cloth and some oil, if that says anything about its staying power.
I’ve had the Lily Lolo Eyebrow Duo since October and noticed so far that the wax may run out much quicker than the brow powder, but the brow powder will last you for a very long time.
I also want to apologize, the color in the pot looks much brighter than it is, in reality it’s a bit darker.
The wax
The wax does a good job in making the brow hairs stay in place without any glossiness.
In the tutorial they use the brush to apply the wax, and I’ve tried applying it both with the brush and spoolie end, and I found it was just easier to use my finger and then brush trough with the spoolie to get desired result. But preference probably depends on the thickness of your brows.
Before my purchase I was looking at Anastasia Beverly Hills and Smashbox that has something very similar to this, and before I even got the chance to make a wish, Lily Lolo came out with a natural alternative! I haven’t tried the other ones, but from the pleasant experience I’ve had, this one should be equally as good with the added bonus of being made with only natural ingredients + the price!

Lily Lolo | Angled Brow Spoolie Brush

I’ve never had a brow brush before, so I can’t really compare to a preference more than it does its job and never have I felt like something is missing.
I’ve read that it’s important that it’s somewhat stiff, and this one is just that. It’s easy to use, precise, and works even as an eyeliner brush! Maybe not the best eyeliner brush, but you can do a quick cat eye in a matter of seconds thanks to it’s angle. (Eyeliner in picture: Tikei Desire Eyeshadow)
And I admit to using the brow color as an eyeliner too some days…
As with all Lily Lolo’s brushes, they are of great quality considering the price. I’ve yet to experience any shedding with them and from my experience they dry pretty quickly too.
