This summer two new sunscreens hit the market and This summer two new sunscreens hit the market and here’s my 3 month review. ☀️

👉🏼 Vichy came out with a tinted version of their UV Age daily fluid. I found it strange as the original doesn’t leave a white cast. But I was on the lookout for a tinted spf and picked this up as I love the first one 💁🏻‍♀️ I’d say the tint is a true light/medium neutral and oxidizes to a bit darker shade as it dries down. It matches my skintone quite well, looks sort of like a subtle fake tan if anything. True tint, not a lot of coverage. Layers well when reapplied without looking patchy. 👌🏼 Nice base for make up too. Would definitely repurchase!

👉🏼 Swedish ACO jumped on the wagon and dropped its own affordable fluid sunscreen. Very elegant formula and finish! Love everything about it except that it leaves a slight white cast despite 100% chemical filters 😬 But it gives a perfect base for makeup so I’m not too bothered. Beyond that I’m super impressed with the texture and finish! 10/10! Will perhaps repurchase for winter as it’s one of few fluid spf’s with hydrating properties. 👌🏼

✨ End of year musings ✨ First of all, thanks ✨ End of year musings ✨

First of all, thanks to everyone who’s not my mom or an old acquaintance from my past lol for sticking around yet another slow content year❣️No hard feelings if you do an yearly clean up and I don’t make the cut for next year though 😅

As much as I would like to come back and deliver informative content like everyone else… I’ve had to accept that I shine brighter in other settings. IG may be a wonderful medium for others but for me it’s been nothing than hitting my head against the wall and complaining why my head hurts. 🤕 And since consciously taking a backseat in 2020, I’ve proven myself that I don’t suck as much as I had myself believe. In my case, if life throws you lemons don’t try to make lemonade, ask why and from where they’re being thrown. 😅

✨2021 BEST… ✨

TV-show… White Lotus and Ted Lasso
- The fact that I just started binging Ted Lasso two days ago and it’s quickly become the best thing I’ve watched says a lot! 😂

Investment… @melissawoodhealth app
- Without a doubt❣️Stopped going to the gym, lifting and doing regular HIIT workouts, swapped it for walks and bite sized pilates. Finally lost the weight I gained and feeling comfortable in my skin. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Achievement… Luxury bargains and facing fears
- Price is relative, patience is gold, and facing fears makes you more bold. 😏

Life lesson… “You are not who you think you are”
- As we get older we often start identifying ourselves with certain behavior, smarts, and likes. We tell ourselves lies of who we are and what we’re capable of. Usually influenced by others around us, past beliefs and societal opinions. Lies limiting our truest potential and deepest desires. By ridding myself of old limiting beliefs I’ve surprised and even shocked myself with how multi-talented and diverse my identity can be. 💫

On that note, I’ll end by wishing you all a happy new year! Hope you’ll tag along for the next ✨♥️
Don’t you just love it when an expensive product Don’t you just love it when an expensive product doesn’t work for you? Or maybe you hate it as it was a waste of money 😅😝

It’s really worth repeating that a higher price tag doesn’t always = amazing results. What I’ve learned is that there are many different factors at play when it comes to pricing. Some brands want to offer new and exclusive formulations with studies behind them. Which isn’t cheap. Others are just starting off small batch, wanting to make it full time. And some just want the rich as their target consumer (looking at you Dr Sturm 🧐). And that’s all fine. 💁🏻‍♀️

I forgot the point I wanted to make. 😅

But if you’re interested in hearing my thoughts on some expensive Allies of Skin-products, hop on over to my blog! ☺️ (Link in bio)

✨🌸 CUSTOM HAIR CARE 🌸✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been using @functionofbeauty since February when I got them for my birthday. This is a brand I've been eyeing since they launched. 😍 The idea of customized hair care appealed to me as I always felt I had to let go of certain aspects. If I want volume, I can't have moisture, and if I wanted curl action, I will not get volume, etc. With customized hair care, I can make a formula that checks all my boxes... Well, so I thought. 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've realized that there are a few issues surrounding customed stuff... 🙄 In the case of FoB, the customer is responsible to know their hair and what it needs. However, I would say, that the majority of us don't have a clue! 🙈 Like, in my case, I chose goals after my wants, not necessarily what my hair needs. 😶 You would think those two go hand in hand, but they don't!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While it didn't end up in disaster, my expectations weren't met. But I can't blame the product or the brand, because I chose the formula. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This brings me to my next issue...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are literally more than ten thousand combinations to try. Which is one too many if the first concoction doesn't work for you. I mean, I'd rather try out a different line, than try to puzzle the right pieces together. 🙇🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are other brands, like @prose (only US atm), where the customization is more like a consultation. So rather than you picking what you think would work, you do a quiz answering stuff about your hair and health. What's also interesting is that they take into account your environment and its humidity level. Which I think is genius! Nevertheless, even that won't totally guarantee the formula will work for you. 💁🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While I can only speak for _this particular formula_ and how it worked with _my hair_, if you are interested to read my experience hop on over to my blog! 👉🏼 link in bio.

IDUN Minerals Skincare Review

IDUN Minerals Skincare Travel and Cleansing Mousse, Eye Cream

At the start of the year, I promised myself to try to not buy any new skincare products unless I had to replace one, and clean beauty products were always in the back of my mind to try one day, however, IDUN Minerals were the very next thing on my wishlist to try. So when a day cream, face wash, and eye cream came to an end around the same time, I went and ordered a bunch of stuff from IDUN. I got the cleansing mousse and eye cream in full size and then added their travel kit so I could try as many things from them as possible. The kit lasted me about 2-3 weeks of daily use, and overall, I had at least over one month use with the other two. So here are my thoughts!

IDUN Minerals Skincare Travel Cleansing Lotion, Moisturizing Day Cream, Moisturizing Serum

IDUN MINERALS SKINCARE

IDUN is a Swedish brand that offers mineral makeup. But as of a year ago came out with their own skincare line revolving around a key ingredient Malic Acid. Malic acid is found naturally in sour foods like apples. Hence, the apple on the products.
The packaging is quite minimalistic and reminds us very much of another Swedish brand, Verso. But nonetheless, it feels very IDUN, not like they tried to be copycats.
All of the products are fragrance-free and 100% vegan!

IDUN Cleansing Face & Eye Lotion

This one surprised me, as I thought it would have more of a milky lotion-type of texture. Instead, this came out more like a gel-lotion. This one is formulated for normal to dry skin types.
I found it to be nice and calming. It says that it can and will remove makeup and impurities, even waterproof mascara. The lotion does contain oat kernel oil, canola oil, and squalane, but somehow it didn’t fully remove my makeup/SPF all on its own. Or more exactly, it did not do a better job than a true oil-based first cleanse, I feel. I would use it as a morning cleanser or as a first cleanser. Other nourishing ingredients include: Glycerin, Malic acid, vitamin E and Niacinamide.

IDUN Cleansing Face & Eye Mousse

This is a gentle cleansing mousse for normal/combination skin. It’s formulated with Malic Acid, Sodium PCA, Magnesium PCA, Manganese PCA, Zinc PCA. It’s supposed to be massaged in on dry skin and then rinsed. Justa as the lotion, this one promises to remove stubborn makeup all on its own. And yet again, I’d say it needs a little help either from a lotion or an oil-based cleanser.
I really like this one, but the formula is very similar to one of my other favorite mousse cleansers from L300. And L300 is just a lot cheaper.

IDUN Rich Moisture Serum

I was very excited to try this. Ever since ACO discontinued their Protect & Restore serum, which was basically a hydrating niacinamide serum, I’ve been on the hunt for something similar. Now, ACO did replace it with their Lift & Fill serum. But I just personally don’t find it to be as hydrating as the other one, and niacinamide is further down the list.
The IDUN rich moisture serum has niacinamide as the second ingredient (not counting water), as well as their key ingredient Malic Acid. There’s also PCA’s and hyaluronic acid to nourish and keep the skin hydrated.

I found it to simply be an okay serum. But again, so was the serum from ACO too! lol Feels hydrating and soothing to the skin, and I’ve been turning to it whenever my skin felt a bit out of balance. But I find that the consistency of the gel-cream could’ve been better and feel smoother on the skin. It also doesn’t feel as hydrating as I thought, and people with dry skin might not find it to be enough. But definitely get the Travel Kit to try it first!
Nonetheless, I do find it to be a great alternative if you liked ACO’s Protect & Restore serum, and want a serum with a large amount of niacinamide without it being irritating to the skin. The only downside is that it’s a lot pricier than the serum/s from ACO.

IDUN Minerals Cleansing Mousse and eye cream

IDUN Moisturizing Day Cream for Normal/Combination Skin

There’s a day cream for Normal to Dry skin types, but this one does not come with the travel kit. The difference between the two, from what I can see, is that the cream for dry skin has more canola oil and also added hyaluronic acid to be more nourishing and hydrating. Other than that, the ingredients are pretty much the same.
Both include humectants like glycerin and various mineral PCA’s and enriched with vitamin C (in the form of SAP), E och folic acid.

This is a good moisturizer I would say. It dries matte and feels good on the skin. However, not really worth the full price in my opinion. I don’t want to be mean (but hey, I purchased this with my own money so I don’t have to be objective), but the ingredients are kind of mediocre. And they should’ve easily been in the same low price range as L300’s moisturizers. For 329SEK/€33 you are better off buying a moisturizer from Paula’s Choice which offers a wider range of ingredients and feels much nicer on the skin. On a second thought, not all of Paula’s moisturizers are vegan…
I was also disappointed to see they’ve added cacao butter, which has a high comedogenic rating. This just doesn’t make it fully suited for daily use on acneic and/or oily skin. Shea butter would’ve been enough.
Overall, I wasn’t that impressed by this moisturizer to consider a repurchase. I was also experiencing some dehydration during the time of testing, so might be why I’m not fully sold. I wish they had at least included some hyaluronic acid like they did in the cream for dry skin. Because normal to combination might not need a lot of amount of lipids, but we do need some hydration in the form of HA.

IDUN Moisturizing Eye Cream

I went from a peptide-rich eye gel from InstaNatural to try this. And I actually like this one better!
This eye cream comes in a pump packaging with this… I don’t know what to call it, but you see the pictures. Despite it having a fun applicator, I ended up just using my fingers anyway.
The pump is great and precise. With short tugs, you’ll get the tiny amount you need, and a little goes a long way. It’s more of a lotion than a cream and hydrates the eye area really well. But perhaps, if you’d like something more wrinkle-fighting and for very dry skin, look elsewhere. IDUN skincare is more marketed towards a younger audience, anyone below 35, I would say. So note that their products might not deliver enough hydration to soften wrinkles.

The eye cream has very much the same ingredients as their other moisturizers. Formulated with niacinamide, folic acid, oat kernel oil, PCA’s, and vitamin E. It is on the expensive side compared with other pharmacy brands, but I find it well worth it, and it’s not difficult to find the brand offered at 20% occasionally. If you are in your 20’s, this is a great one!

Conclusion

Overall my experience stayed positive towards the line. My skin had no issues with any of the products. I could see myself repurchasing several of the products, but I’m going to only stick to the eye cream for now. Some of the products I felt are a bit too overpriced when compared to other brands with a similar formula. I’m not saying that the eye cream is not; ACO makes an eye cream with very similar ingredients that’s half the price. I might try it for reference in texture. But right now, IDUN’s eye cream suits me very well.

SVENSKA

DENNA SIDA ANVÄNDER SIG AV ANNONSLÄNKAR

IDUN Cleansing Face & Eye Lotion

IDUN Cleansing Face & Eye Mousse

IDUN Rich Moisture Serum

IDUN Moisturizing Day Cream för Normal / Blandad Hy

IDUN Moisturizing Eye Cream

Men just nu passar IDUNs ögonkräm mig väldigt bra.

Hint: The most expensive product was my least favorite. 👀

🌼 Quarter Three Musings 🌼 Been busy… figu 🌼 Quarter Three Musings 🌼

Been busy… figuring out if math is related to science…
– And I’ll say no more until I know for sure. 🤔 But one thing’s for sure, there are such things as stupid questions. 💁🏻‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keeping me grounded… Movement and active rest🧘🏻‍♀️
– with the help of the @balance app I’ve been trying to make at least 5 min of deep pause a daily habit to increase focus, motivation and understanding. And I’ve been surprisingly calmer compared to my other counterparts. 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Best summer memory… Rooftop Pool 😎
– Not to mention that awkward encounter with people from high school 🙈😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New in beauty 🧖🏻‍♀️:
– Bioderma Cicabio Cream
– Ouai Air Dry Foam
– Skincity Skincare Kit
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Contemplating a lot on… What exactly defines one’s identity?
– And do we really have one or do we just tell ourselves that? 👀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Best purchase… Zara Seamless wear
– One of those, “insta made me do it”. 😄 I haven’t bought anything from Zara in years, but this they did good ⭐️ The most comfy, stretchy and soft leisure wear I’ve ever had👌🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feeling good about… Myself 🥰
– The positive side effect of being off social media. 😏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On my wishlist… the Dyson Supersonic 💇🏻‍♀️
– Kind of embarrassing to want one. 🙄 The price is ridiculous. And I’ll probably won’t be happy with it because of the high pitch sound only I seem to recognize 🙉 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Favorite streams 📺… “White Lotus” and “Mare of Easttown”
– Loved the mix of Faulty Towers meets murder mystery in White Lotus. And who can hate on anything starring Kate Winslet? 😍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m looking forward to… Countdown to Christmas🎄
– Can’t wait to open advent calendars! And just like last year, I got myself one filled with beauty products 😁✨

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you tried custom hair care?
Sorry it took this long to put up the recipe! I ju Sorry it took this long to put up the recipe! I just had to re-bake the cake after realizing it became drier than it was supposed to. 🙈 So had to figure out what I might’ve done wrong.

After some trial and error, here’s the complete vegan recipe 👇🏼
If you want to have a look at the original, go to @linawallentinson blog or buy/borrow her book 😁

✨ Ingredients:
6 tbsp aqua faba
1 dl brown or white sugar
2 dl rice flour
1 dl corn starch (maizena)
1 tbsp psylliumhusk
1/4 tsp vanilla powder
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp poppy seeds
2 tbsp of oil
75g melted vegan butter
1 tsp grated lemon peel
½ tbsp lemon juice
3 dl (120g) grated zucchini or carrot
Some butter and grated coconut or rice flour to grease the pan.

✨ Glaze:
1 dl powdered sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice

🌸 How to:
Set the oven at 175°C/~350°F

1. Whip the sugar and aqua faba to a foam.
2. Mix rice flour, corn starch, husk, vanilla, baking powder and poppy seeds in another bowl.
3. Pour the dry ingredients into the sugar whip together with melted butter, lemon peel and juice, and mix to a batter.
- If you choose to make it with carrots, add 2 tbsp of oil into the mixture for a less dry cake. If you go with zucchini you don’t really have to unless you like a juicy cake.
4. Pour the grated zucchini (do NOT squeeze it dry) or carrot into the mixture and mix well.
5. Butter up a pan with coconut flakes or rice flour and then pour the batter into the pan.
6. Put in the middle of the oven for about 30-40 min. Check with a testing stick if the batter is dry.
7. Let cool down before taking the cake out of the pan.
8. Mix ingredients for the glaze and top it off with some lemon peel sprinkles. 🌼

And thats it! Hope you enjoy! Check out my highlight ”Friday F’s” for more foods!
