Long days of bright sun, heat, and humidity are all in line with the season of Pitta in Ayurveda. And if you’re already Pitta dominant, this season can overload you and put you off balance. But no matter what constitution, everyone benefits from a few Pitta reducing tricks during summer. To help prevent the over-accumulation of Pitta qualities and let you enjoy the summertime, we turn to a summer seasonal routine where we address our diet and lifestyle habits to a more cooling nature.
I know I’m not the only one who gets tiny bumps on my forehead or all over my face in the summer. Usually, it’s so bad that I don’t get rid of them until winter comes. Glycolactic peels help, but you’re not supposed to be exposed to sunlight when using them, and me being a relatively active person in the summer, I will just do more damage to existing acne scars with that habit.
I turned to Ayurveda for answers where they say the cause for those tiny bumps is overheating. The only way to prevent summer acne is to keep it cool. Hats, shading and common sense about not being out at midday helps, but there’s more you can do!
