Rosehip BioRegenerate Collection:
Intensive Nourishing Facial Set
Before I even had the chance to write a review on this it got discontinued only to appear just before the holidays again as a perfect Christmas present!
+ Fun thing: it took it about 4 weeks to get it delivered, it got stuck at customs and opened, they probably thought the strange orange liquid could have been harmful lol
There’s a lot of mixed information about Rosehip Oil and acne, I bought it because at the time I had read that Rosehip oil would be the #1 oil to treat acne scars, but of course if you’ve done your research you would know there’s a chance it may even make your acne worse and cause more scarring. Some Rosehip oils say on the packaging that they’re not suitable for acneic skin. So I approached the oil with great caution.
Pai Skincare | Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil 30ml
All Skin Types
There were no second thoughts on which brand of oil I should buy, Pai in my eyes was the most effective for they use both the common fruit seed oil but also the actual fruit extract! Still to this day (2017) I haven’t found another oil with both!
Rosehip oil has high levels of Retinoic Acid, in other words: Vitamin A. Pai says it’s supposed to supply the skin with Vitamin A without causing irritation but keep in mind that everyone’s different. Luckily I handled it pretty well. But there’s the thing with Vitamin A on the face, it’s got the same effect as AHA’s, it exfoliates the skin causing it to become more sensitive and dry in excessive use. So I only applied it in the evening as a serum, and it’s advised to use SPF in a combination of a treatment like this when using it during the day with full sun.
Many who are not used to natural products would comment on the smell, for me it was indifferent, I actually almost like the smell, especially of the Rosehip mask. Minding the bright orange color, it may be smart to let the oil sink in before you go to bed, it may transfer onto bedsheets. I had no problems with stained pillowcases but have read lots of reviews on this issue.
I felt like red spots from blemishes was indeed fading faster and my oily skin at the time became closer to normal. I have used other rosehip seed oils, but none as effective and dry as this one. Since using it up I definitely feel like I miss it and would absolutely repurchase it! It’s become one of my HG products.
✔︎ Definitely saw some improvements in the complexion
✔︎ Light and sinks in fast
✔︎ Stabilizes oil production
✔︎ Fades hyperpigmentation, dark- and red spots
✘ Clear glass bottle, not so good when it comes to preservation
✘ The pipette was the most difficult I’ve ever used, too stiff to suck or get anything out.
INGREDIENTS: Rosa Canina (Rosehip CO2) Seed Extract*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip CO2) Fruit Extract*, Mixed Tocopherols (Natural Vitamin E)
All Skin Types – Especially Dry
This face mask used to only be available for purchase during the holiday season through one of their limited edition Christmas kits. Now, my three stars actually indicates that I’m clueless on what to rate it. Yeah, even after a year… But to be fair it should say 3.5 Stars.
But I think it’s got to do with the fact it’s a limited edition, and for that I have used it sparingly – even though everything from Pai should be consumed within six months… But I was really unsure it would actually come back, and what if I liked it?
I must comment on the smell of this one, it smells just like Play Dough! The consistency is like butter, soft enough to melt on the skin for easy application, but it’s not like most masks you’re used to.
The mask is supposed to deeply hydrate and condition the skin to leave it beautifully soft and supple. Does it do this? I’m still on the fence on the last two things (if you don’t scrub beforehand it won’t leave your skin soft), but it definitely is one of my most hydrating masks I have.
It is really helpful during the winter months when my skin is feeling dry. I take a somewhat bigger than a pea size and massage it into my skin until it’s almost completely sinking in. I let it sit for a few hours until gently removing any excess with a damp muslin cloth. My face is then left feeling a lot plumper.
Because this mask doesn’t contain any sort of chemical exfoliant like AHA, this mask falls short on giving any instant results as it promises. Best time to use it is when you really set the time to pamper yourself for a few hours. But it would’ve been more interesting if they’d change the formula and make this into a sleep mask.
✔︎ Very hydrating
✔︎ Smells good (if you like play dough smell)
✔︎ Lasts a long time
✘ Doesn’t really have an instant effect on the skin that I would like.

Pai Skincare | Organic Muslin Cloth
Personally: Not really for sensitive skin
Kudos for it being unbleached and organic, but I’ve had better and softer. This one is a bit abrasive for my skin, and I wouldn’t really recommend it to any having sensitive or acneic skin. However, as my skin has gotten more normal, I’ve been able to tolerate it. But this muslin cloth is best used on the body.
EDIT: Pai recently came out with a dual face cloth, which I haven’t had a chance yet to test, but seems softer.
Made from 100% unbleached organic muslin cotton.
As of Christmas 2014, Pai has revamped the Rosehip Face Mask changing somewhat the ingredients. It’s now called Rosehip BioRegenerate Rapid Radiance Mask and comes in a tube of 75ml and is now part of their permanent collection.
